Michael
Assistant Branch Manager (Cardiff Branch)
Mike joined Independent Paint Supplies in September 2024, stepping into the role of Assistant Branch Manager at our Cardiff branch, where he works closely alongside Louis to oversee the day-to-day running of operations. Coming from a well-established wood finishing supplies company in Cardiff, where he successfully managed their branch and drove its growth, Mike brought with him a wealth of industry experience and leadership skill.
Transitioning into IPS was no small task — with a completely new computer system, product range, and customer base to learn — but Mike handled it all with ease and professionalism. His calm, collected approach and attention to detail have made him a natural fit within the team, quickly earning the respect and trust of both colleagues and customers alike.
While his background was primarily in wood finishing, Mike has quickly adapted to the automotive sector, finding plenty of crossovers between the two industries. His deep product knowledge and long-standing customer relationships have proven invaluable, with many of his previous clients following him to IPS thanks to his reputation for excellent service and reliability.
Mike is known for his thoroughness, patience, and professionalism, taking a large share of the customer calls and sales support in Cardiff — helping the branch run smoothly every single day. He’s a fantastic addition to the team, and adds to a true A-Team leading the continued growth of IPS Cardiff.
Meet Michael
- Do you have a nickname (and how did you get it)? Scant- From my surname!
- What's your favourite IPS product- and why? 1400ml mixing cups. It amuses me as the part number is SCPPCUP and it sounds like a cup you pee in
- What's your proudest moment (inside or outside of work)? Watching my son win the Bard in his final year of junior school
- If you could have dinner with any three people (dead or alive), who would they be? They would be three people that were alive, as dinner with dead people wouldn't have much of an atmosphere
