Delivery Driver

Known across the company as “Gracie” (and occasionally “The Mexican” thanks to his dress sense (including sombrero's), impressive moustache and easy-going charm), Steve Grace joined Independent Paint Supplies in February 2021 following a recommendation from a friend — and he’s been a brilliant addition to the team ever since.

With a background in sales, Steve brought with him a strong understanding of customer relationships and a real talent for communication. While his main role is as a delivery driver, he often goes the extra mile by selling products straight from the van. His genuine enthusiasm and product knowledge make him a natural at it, and customers love his honest advice and no-nonsense approach. If Gracie’s recommending something, you can be sure he’s done his homework on what it is, how it works, and whether it’s worth buying.

Always up for a laugh, Steve brings plenty of personality to the IPS team — though he’ll admit early mornings aren’t his favourite part of the job! A member of a local Welsh choir, Gracie’s love for singing has become a bit of a legend in the company. Originally from the Midlands, he’s even taught himself Welsh songs phonetically, and to his credit, he’s pretty good at them!

Away from work, Steve is a red wine connoisseur, known to enjoy a glass (or two) over the weekend. He’s also featured in several of our social media and TikTok videos, showing his fun-loving personality and sense of humour.

Loud, lively, and loved by customers and colleagues alike, Gracie is a true character and a big part of what makes IPS such a fun, welcoming place to work.

Give us your funniest story about IPS? When someone dropped a chocolate doughnut down the toilet, and it wouldn't flush away so I picked it up and discovered it wasn't a chocolate doughnut!
What's your most memorable day on the job so far? Falling over and breaking my nose at the Christmas party
Where would we find you on a Sunday morning? In bed, getting over Saturday night
If you could have dinner with any three people (dead or alive), who would they be? Freddie Mercury (to entertain), Gordon Ramsay (to cook), and Kylie Minogue (for afters)
