Mipa 1K Isolator
Mipa 1K Isolator is a professional fast-drying single-component isolating primer designed to protect solvent-sensitive existing paintwork before refinishing. It creates an effective barrier between old and new paint systems, preventing lifting, wrinkling, swelling and bleeding when overcoating with solvent-based coatings. This makes it the ideal solution for restoring older vehicles or repairing panels with unknown or sensitive paint finishes.
Specially formulated for use over thermoplastic coatings, alkyd resin finishes and other solvent-sensitive substrates, Mipa 1K Isolator provides excellent insulating properties while maintaining outstanding adhesion. It can be overcoated directly with both 1K and 2K solvent-based paint systems, eliminating the need to completely remove unstable existing coatings and helping to save valuable preparation time.
The ready-to-spray formulation is simple to apply using conventional spray equipment, producing a smooth, even coating that dries quickly and is ready for overcoating after approximately 1 hour at 20°C. Its excellent sealing performance makes it an essential product for professional bodyshops, restoration specialists and classic vehicle restorers.
