The RAL Design System offers an extensive collection of colours, providing a much broader choice of shades than the traditional RAL Classic range. With colours systematically arranged by hue, lightness and chroma, the range is ideal for architectural, interior, industrial and design applications where a more specific colour choice is required.

Every RAL Design colour is mixed to order in-house by our experienced paint specialists, helping to ensure consistency and quality with every order.
Our RAL Design mixed colours are available in 400ml aerosols or 50ml touch-up pots complete with a brush, all professionally mixed by our own paint experts.

Substrate
Plastic – Select this option if the paint is to be applied to a plastic surface, for example PVC windows or doors.
This type of paint is suitable for coating uPVC, hard plastics (excluding GRP) and powder-coated surfaces. If in doubt, a small trial should be carried out in a localised area before full application to ensure adhesion and compatibility with the surface.
Metal – Select this option if the paint is to be applied to a metal surface, for example steel gates, machinery or metalwork.
This type of paint is suitable for coating steel, zinc substrates and aluminium. If in doubt, a small trial should be carried out in a localised area before full application to ensure adhesion and compatibility with the surface.
Wood – Select this option if the paint is to be applied to a wooden surface, for example furniture, doors or a garden bench.
This type of paint is suitable for coating wood with a maximum moisture content of 15%. If in doubt, a small trial should be carried out in a localised area before full application to ensure adhesion and compatibility with the surface.
Full Gloss – Our Full Gloss option provides a high-gloss finish directly from the aerosol, with no need to purchase an additional clearcoat.
Gloss finishes are highly reflective and provide a smooth, shiny appearance. Approximately 70–100% gloss.
Satin – RAL Design solid colours can be mixed with a satin finish. Satin provides a softer appearance than Full Gloss and is particularly popular for industrial applications, PVC, furniture, kitchens and architectural applications.
A satin finish provides a medium level of gloss without the highly reflective appearance of a Full Gloss coating. Approximately 30–50% gloss.
Matt – RAL Design solid colours can also be supplied with a matt finish. This provides a very low-sheen appearance with little to no glossy reflection and is popular for industrial items, PVC windows and doors, furniture, kitchens and decorative applications.
A matt finish provides a flat, dull appearance rather than a shiny surface. Approximately 0–20% gloss.
Please ensure you enter the complete RAL Design colour reference when placing your order.
Unlike RAL Classic colours, which typically use four-digit references such as RAL 9005, RAL Design colours use a seven-digit reference, for example RAL 210 60 30.
We recommend checking your required colour against a physical RAL Design colour chart wherever colour accuracy is particularly important.

All RAL Design colours are mixed specifically to order. Colour accuracy and suitability should therefore be checked before application.
No responsibility for colour differences can be accepted once the mixed product has been applied.

Products should be returned unused and in their original packaging where possible. Please note that we are unable to accept returns on mixed paint products. We also cannot accept responsibility for colour issues once paint has been applied.
