Sikkens Colorbuild Plus Plastic Additive HT

Sikkens Colorbuild™ Plus Plastic Additive HT is a specialist additive developed to allow the Sikkens Colorbuild Plus wet-on-wet primer system to be applied directly onto many automotive plastic substrates without the need for a separate plastic adhesion promoter. Designed to improve adhesion and simplify the refinishing process, this innovative additive helps bodyshops reduce repair times whilst maintaining the exceptional finish quality expected from Sikkens coating systems.

Available from Independent Paint Supplies, Colorbuild Plus Plastic Additive HT is specifically formulated for use with the Colorbuild Plus Non-Sanding (Wet-on-Wet) system. When added to the primer mixture according to Sikkens recommendations, it enables direct application onto correctly prepared plastic components, creating excellent adhesion and a durable foundation for subsequent topcoat application.

By incorporating the adhesion-promoting properties directly into the primer system, Colorbuild Plus Plastic Additive HT eliminates the need for a separate plastic primer stage on many common automotive plastics. This helps improve workshop productivity, reduce material usage, and simplify the overall repair process.

The additive is suitable for use on most automotive plastic substrates when correctly cleaned, prepared, and sanded. It is designed for use on plastics commonly found in modern vehicle bumpers, mirror covers, trims, and mouldings, with the exception of pure polypropylene (PP) and pure polyethylene (PE). When used with Colorbuild Plus, no additional plasticiser is required.
